The Eminence Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to welcome you to our district.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children.  The Eminence PTO works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers and parents

Eminence Community Preschool strives to ensure that all students develop a positive self-concept, the ability to problem-solve, the ability to negotiate with their peers and engage in a variety of hands-on, language-rich, learning experiences. Eminence believes that it is the shared responsibility of the students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and community to provide a creative learning environment where each child can develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically to master the essential skills necessary to become successful, lifelong learners.

Eminence Elementary counseling program consists of individual counseling sessions, classroom visits, and consultation. Individual counseling sessions are done on referral by parents, teachers, administrators, or the student.  A session consists mainly of the presentation of strategies for academic and social success.  Goal-setting and decision-making are central to this program.  Sometimes family discussion meetings are held.

PBIS – Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports

We encourage our students to show positive behaviors through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program. We track student behaviors with Class Dojo, and students earn recognition and prizes for making appropriate decisions. We celebrate PBIS schoolwide each quarter with an event for students that have met our behavioral goals. These PBIS events have included attending Indianapolis Indians baseball games, bounce house parties, decorating gingerbread men, and attending movies. Our PBIS rewards are funded by our PTO.

Centerstone, a private, not-for-profit health care provider, has offered a full range of quality behavioral health services for nearly 50 years. Our treatment options include outpatient services such as individual, marital and family consultations and counseling, group classes and counseling, case management, alcohol and drug treatment programs, and intensive outpatient programs. We provide services to children, teens and adults of all ages. In Morgan County, Centerstone has two offices, one in Martinsville and another in Mooresville.

Centerstone currently has a partnership with Eminence schools where services are available free of charge for all students through a grant-funded program. This means individual therapy is available to all students free of charge, including students with private insurance or without health insurance. Life skills are also available for clients with Medicaid. Through this partnership, a Centerstone therapist will be working out of Eminence schools a minimum of one day a week during the school year. This means that individual therapy can be provided to students at school during the school day. This grant-funded program operates all year round and individual therapy can continue during school breaks as well. These services may be provided at the Centerstone offices of Morgan County.

For more information or to schedule an initial evaluation please contact the school guidance counselor or call 765-342-6616 to be forwarded to the Centerstone therapist working at Eminence schools. Evaluations will be provided by a Centerstone therapist.

Eminence is certified as one of Indiana’s STEM Schools. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. We use STEM to help students tackle real-world problems and practice the type of thinking they will need in their futures. Teamwork, collaboration, and communication are emphasized through STEM.

Eminence Elementary School participates in the VEX IQ robotics program each year. Since we began we have taken dramatic steps to grow our program, and we’ve achieved ever-increasing success.

  • We’ve hosted events consisting of dozens of teams from around the state
  • We’ve had multiple teams win tournaments and qualify for the state championship
  • We have competed in the state championship for two years in a row, and this year we had two teams qualify for Worlds
  • In May we will be competing in Worlds for the first time

We plan to continue growing our program through a summer robotics camp. We are always looking for volunteers to help with robotics tournaments.

At Eminence, we take school safety very important and have made drastic improvements to the safety curriculum. Parents are sending their most beloved treasures to the school on a daily basis and are expecting that they return unharmed and unscathed after school. Family is number one and being able to send home teachers and students safely to their families is something that should be considered a high priority. That being considered, special precautions have been added to ensure fiscal responsibility and maintaining proper safety channels for all individuals inside the school.
