We love kids here at Eminence. We wish we were in the classrooms with our students, but while this COVID-19 school closure keeps us from being with our students in-person, we are finding ways to learn better ways to reach all students. 100% of our teachers have become certified in the Trauma-Informed Resilient Schools program during our waiver days from Governor Holcomb.

Students only have school three days a week (unless they save some learning for their off days) but our teachers are hard at work five days a week. Thursdays and Fridays have been used planning our distance learning, completing this training, collecting data, creating curriculum, and other things. This one may be what I am most excited about. We’ve done other trainings moving in this direction, especially as we are guided by out school counselor, Ms. Sightes.

We’re excited to get back to school with our students, but we’re making sure we are even better than we were last time we were together! Great teachers never quit learning!
